Glowsticking By Robert Lesage of Glowsticking.com Glowsticking is commonly confused with Raving; however, the two are completely different. For one, Glowsticking is an artform. This dance artform involves the minimum use of two 6" glowsticks. Raving, on the other hand, is the act of going/attending a rave. The danceform can also be split into two seperate forms; freehanding and stringing. Stringing involves the use of shoe strings of various lengths (depending on arm length and comfort) whereas freehanding is just as it implies. For a while, freehanding was the dominating art form of the two. Around 2003 is when the numbers started to turn. Originally, many glowstickers believed that stringing was quite limited as it could only lead to tangles. However, with the concepts of string manipulation, wraps, and traces, more and more glowstringers started coming out of the woodwork.
